The project initiated last summer by the Association Kinookus and Cinematographers Dubrovnik continues and is taking place this year too. The aim is to bring the public back to the summer cinema Slavica. The last-year pilot programme was a great success: for some screenings of the documentary films selected by Kinookus Food Film Festival people were queuing to get the ticket, and that was not seen since the golden age of this cinema.

Croatian Audiovisual Centre and the City of Dubrovnik recognised the importance of this initiative to preserve the valuable space of the Slavica Cinema and to develop a film taste of, above all, young people for documentary and authorial films. Therefore, we have decided to support the continuation of the film programme starting on Wednesday 9 July at 9pm by screening of a documentary film dedicated to a man who recently, during the Terra Madre Balkan meetings, visited Dubrovnik and Croatia for the first time. He is Carlo Petrini, the founder and president of Slow Food, the largest global ecogastronomic movement for the preservation of good, clean and traditionally produced food.

Slow Food Story directed by the Italian director Stefano Sardi and produced by the Art Director of Kinookus Ines Vasiljević, in an original way presents the history of the movement through the life story of one of the greatest visionaries of our age.

The ticket price for the Wednesday screenings is 25 HRK. For more information please contact: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..">This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
